Well I failed DEQ in Oregon, Main Catalyst Effeciency Below Threshold (Bank 1) Code P0422. I had this cleared the day before and about 45 miles later it thru code just one mile before DEQ testing station.

I plan to reset code tomorrow. Does anyone know the amount of miles ones needs to drive the OBDII sets itself? I have to play this fine line game before addressing the catalytic converter.

On another note, many of you have upgraded your systems. I see IPD wants $995 for a complete 3" system. Are there other options besides IPD? Upgrading to a 3" Turbo Back system, does this increase your MPG and what else? As of this date, my turbo is still stock at 222hp. I have thoughts about upgrading the ECU and doing chipping it, installing the K&N air filter, but that has to wait since this happened.

Please let me know your thouhts and suggestions on whether to stay and maybe get a cat from FCP Groton or do a 3" upgrade and what are my expected benefits.

Run a search through here and Volvospeed. Many people have been thru this. I would also check my O2 sensor and fuel trim values.

"ECU illuminating the CEL" depends on several factors, not only miles.

Whatever performance mods you do to the car will decrease the mpg.
