Default 96" Volvo 850 T5 No Spark Please Help

I have a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo it stopped running on me on the highway I found out it doesn't have spark I replace the ignition coil the camshaft position sensor and also the crank position sensor at one point it started up turned off and I started up again thought I had fix the problem put the air unit back on to find out it would turn back over but no spark please help and let me know what the problem could be I'm totally lost

Did you check the rotor. If cam seal is leaking into the cap it could be your problem. And obviously a crack in the cap or wires.

The cap and rotor look good no cracks

check out volvotips.com for some diagnostic procedures and a wiring diagram to see what's in play.

The main relay above the radiator and fan can short. I had to to reconnect mine when i lost spark

Connection.. the wires on mine got spliced sum how i had to re solder them. Its a long shot but maybe

The real problem with the main fuel injection relay is the plug. If you look down into the plug you'll see whether all the connections are presented to the relay like they should be. Could the relay go bad? Sure. You'll figure that out.

You either get power on that circuit or you don't. if you don't, then you found the problem. Fixing it will be the easy enough. We don't fix things by random parts replacement.


I believe a bad cam sensor would set a code. The crank sensor may not if it just does nothing, but if you see RPM's on OBDII, then the crank sensor has to be working at least on some level.
