97 850 t5 transmission
hi! guys,
need some help from volvo guru's I'm manuel from the phillipines and i recently purchased a 97 850 t5 ( matic) . just want to ask if the 1st and the 2nd shift is normal to have slight jerk when shifting. i was wondering maybe the engine supports are already worn out. i found out one of the support from the upper ( right under the hood) is already worn out. i replaced it already to a new one. The jerk improved a little but i can feel more when im driving slower. shifting and down shifting ( note only 1st and 2nd gear).
best!

I smell an opportunity for poly bushings and mounts
If you don't know Manuel, Polyurethane bushings and mounts are more stiff and last practically forever. Your factory mounts/bushings are usually made of rubber. Over time, this rubber becomes brittle and cracks.
You can search Ebay for these things.
I'm in the process of doing all of my bushings (Suspension wise) on my SC300, yet they'll be redone in polyurethane instead of factory rubber.
The engine mounts on that car are solid still. I can balance a coin on top of the engine (That's just because the 2JZ engine is so well balanced and runs so smoothly.)
I don't know about over there, but if it came down to it and you had to replace the transmission, they're dirt cheap in a junk yard (at least around me).
I can get one for $200 if I pull it.
