Aaron's 1994 T5 sedan thread
Tonight I picked up my "new" 1994 turbo sedan.
It is white on black/tan
Runs great and drives nice. The alignment is PERFECT.
The body and interior are damn near immaculate. Some minor wear on the driver's seat.
Issues at hand.
---Under full throttle, the car cuts out. It runs perfectly under normal driving. Ideas? Could it be a vacuum leak? That was my first idea.
---The odometer stopped working at 147,000 and some change, so a new gear is in order. How can I get the actual mileage from the computer?
--Needs the rear wing reattached.
--Front passenger side strut mount makes noise
--Brakes probably need to have the pads replaced and the rotors resurfaced.
--A/C does not work. I don't even hear the compressor kick on at all. So, I'll try and dump freon in tomorrow.
-- On the INFO screen when you go to the screen with the trip count, the mileage continuously counts up without stopping. You can reset it but it does the same thing.
--Assorted interior lights are burned out
I'm sure it will need all new fluids as well.
The owner said they purchased it for their son two years ago, but he didn't like the car, so they rarely drove it. The gas might be bad as well, so I'll run this tank down and put some cleaner in it.
Any thoughts to help me get it stable and boosting properly?
I'll be doing a timing belt soon too because he didn't know when it was done last. I will pull the cover tomorrow. I just need it ready before November so I can stow the Celica away for the winter.
I paid $1,300 for this car. CarFax only had a few records and was clean, save for the broken odometer.
Pics to follow.

Looks like I spoke too soon!
Today I went to CarQuest in town to get some freon and new license plate nuts.
When I came out, the car's lights would come on but it wouldn't crank over.
I let it sit for a few minutes and it started. I bought a new battery and it will crank all the time.
But NOW, the car will run for a few seconds and then stall out.
Fuel delivery problem?
It appears to have a newer radiator and coolant flush.
I did find the fuel pump cover laying in the trunk today though
Well, the car is worth it in parts I would suspect.
I just want to get this figured out. Its SOOO clean inside and out other than needing a wash/wax and vacuum inside.
Help me!

I will check the pump and rail.
What If I have power at both?
One of my friends seems to think its a vac issue.
I plan on replacing the vacuum hoses completely.
Will a pump and fuel rail work from a 98 S70 non turbo? There's one at the yard that might be worth getting
Or can I just get one of the $50 ebay pumps and call it a day?

I put new plugs in it today.
I still need the cables, cap, and rotor.
I pulled back the timing cover today and the belt needs to be replaced.
What should I do first, the belt? or get the car to be able to drive and then do the belt?
I don't need the car to be drivable until it starts to snow, so I have a while and can slowly work on it.
Where is the starter located? I cannot seem to find it.
Also, what's the PNP switch? Where is it?

The fuel pump will be the same but the FPR is most likely different.
Yes the PNP switch is on the top of the tranny. But first make sure there is power going to the small wire on the starter when it will not start. If you have power there it is the starter that is bad. If you have no power it is the PNP switch.
