Hi,
Last week, my mechanic replaced the 4 brake discs and pads. Since then, my ABS and TRAC light come on and off.
I know that usually it's the ABS brake module that is defective but i'm wondering if it could've been unplugged or broke while he was doing the job. It' a bit weird that it arrives just after a brake job.

Check the sensor wires and make sure mone are rubbing the rotors.

 

the light will go off after the vehicle is started 5 times.I have had it hung it the flashing or solid arrow ,it hangs in one gear .I do this and it will return to normal ,otherwise it could easily burn up a tranny.

 

I'm having the same problem with ABS/TRAC lights went on after the mechanic replaced all four discs and pads. ('97 850 Wagon). Initially, I thought the sensors located in the front wheels are dirty so I had cleaned them. However, the lights are still on sometimes. Last night, I turned off the engine, waited for 30 seconds, and restarted the car and drove it and the lights did not turn on. Beside defective ABS module, what could be causing this problem? I don't have a scanner so I cannot read the error codes.

Why do the lights turn off itself after 5 times of restarting?

 

The light only comes on sometimes because the fault is intermitent. And everytime you turn the key on the ABS module does a self test.
