Default BackLights for Temperature & Info LED

Hello to all!

I just bought a 95 T5-R and it is incredible.

However, I have a problem w/ the LED backlight on the display right below the mileage (Changes when you turn the "info" ****). The display works fine otherwise, just can't see it at night.

Also, the temperature control on the right side does not light up, but the left one does?

Do I just need bulds replaced and how do I go about it. I am definately not a mechanic, but would like to attempt it if I am not in danger of messing up any other computer related items.

Thanks!

For the one in the speedo cluster you will need to remove the entire top part of the dash. Some people lift the left side and sometimes it breaks the balck part of the dash by the windsheild. Then you will need to remove the cluster assembly.

Then you can change the bulb.

For the A/C controls you can remove the radio and then push the A/C controls from the back to get them out and then look for the bulb. Im not 100% sure if the bulb is replacable.

If we're talking about the Electronic Climate Control unit then remove it exactly as tech describes. Once you have it out you'll need to remove about 4-6 phillips screws that hold the faceplate onto the rest of the unit. Once that's done, you'll be able to gently pull the faceplate apart to see three sockets for the bulbs. Turn the socket 1/4 turn and pull the bulb out. It's a blade type bulb. I don't have a part number but your best bet is to pull one of the bulbs out and either bring it to volvo or a place like radio shack and have them match it up for you. Just make sure you get the same wattage, etc.

Just want to say Thanks! Got bulbs from Advance Auto and replaced with minimal effort. Pulled radio out, popped out instrament panel and replaced.

A good win for an ametuer!
