AC condensor is cycling on and off - warm air

I own a 94 850 non-turbo sedan. The ac is blowing warm air in all cases and the condensor is cycling on and off at about 1-2 sec intervals. The gauge says 45psi so I figure I'm good on freon. The gauge switches from 25-45psi as the condensor cycles. Any suggestions?

As a test only pull out a low pressure sensor located on low pressure pipe by firewall and short it w/ piece of wire-it will allow compressor to turn without cycling -see what the pressure is then. You also may pull trottle cable to rev the engine to ~1500 RPM -see if the pressure on the low side falls down. DO NOT keep compressor running like that for long time -it may burn it.
If the pressure does fall-it is low on freon. Add small can (8 oz) of freon /oil mixture from your K/wal-mart etc and see if it helps. Check pressure again -DO NOT overcharge.
(Overcharge will activate another system -there is a valve in the AC system to allow extra freon to escape when excessive pressure is present)
If the pressure does not fall when the RPMs are increased it may be bad compressor.
Post the results.

Thanks for the help fellas. Turns out that the suggested gauge pressure of 45psi is not enough for a full charge on this vehicle. I put a can of freon in and it's working. But, since I put freon in last summer, it's clear I have a leak. So my problem is not going away anytime soon.
