Now that I got the cooling fan working on this car (see post here for details: https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-850-16/another-overheating-850-t5-44230/ ) I was wondering about the air guide.

My car has not had one since I purchased it, and from the description at the IPD site it sounds like a pretty important item for keeping the car cooled properly.

Thoughts anyone??

 

I would get one because IPD is correct, it helps with cooling that car so it is a needed item. That being said, you do not necessarily need one of the aluminum ones from IPD.
