I just sold one of my old beloved 240s and was looking to upgrade to a 940 but very few to be had under 3K. So I'm new to the whole FWD thing, The sales lady was pushing this 850 T5 on me because it was just over my 940 price range, which seemed high at the time but after reading this post on T5Rs ??? What's the deal with T5 vs T5R? Like my Cobra is an overbuilt version of the ford production Mustang are the TR upgraded assembly line 850s or a stand alone model? The T5r owners seem estatic over their cars, does this also apply to the t5?. I read the post were a guy clipped a Fex truck and you thought his dog and been run over. That's dedication. I'm assuming with knowledgeable disciples like him out there, it's more a collector thing and will hold resale better than the regular 850.
It's actually for my daughter who drives all over the state on the weekends from school. I would not give my 19 yo kids a 300 plus hp Cobra no matter how well it holds the road, is T5 in that performance range? It looks like it would be a blast to drive, maybe help her over come her aversion to the boring safe bricks Dad's made her drive since high school.
