Battery keeps dying, bad crimp at bat terminal
I must admit my issues are very similar with the ones described in the link below..
The battery on my Volvo keeps dying. How should I determine and fix the problem?
"On cars of this type and age, the crimp on the positive terminal can fail turning the positive wire to the battery into a resistor rather than a wire. This is diagnosed by measuring the charging voltage on the battery and giggling the wire (it will jump around, and not remain at the required 13.8 V), and by noticing that the wire itself is hot. Volvo recently released a fix for this..."
Question:
Does anyone know how this "fix" released by Volvo looks like and where can be purchased from?
Many thanks

Look at the problem...the crimp failed, replace it with a new terminal.

Problem fixed
Thx. It worked! Before was showing 0.71 now it's 0.01 as it should.
Problem was fixed by removing the crimp checking individually all seven wires connected to + of battery. Now I'm still a bit puzzled because the culprit wire was simply left out of the new crimp. It was the only wire that wasn't red and I don't understand what's its purpose as everything seems to be working fine.Any suggestions? Is it 100% safe this way?

Sorry for misunderstading..I didn't by the product from your link(I'm located in Romania)..what we actually did(together with my electrician) was to cut open all seven wires from + test them individually and reconnect. We left out the wire that was causing the problem as it can be seen in the picture. It was the only wire not red..not sure where is it from because everything seems to be working fine. Any idea?

You can try reading through the wiring diagrams at Volvo Wiring Diagrams to see if the factory book shows any yellow wire. Otherwise you may want to trace the wire to a connector or see what doesn't work (like an after market driving lights/ radio/amp hook up or power antenna etc). I see you went with the "Total Etansa" battery... (I googled "Etansa" only to see its Romanian for "tight". Makes sense to me!!
