well 1st of all I feel like my 850 is have tons of problems lately... anyways 1st of all my battery died on me on friday! but b4 that, weird things went on with the power, like when I accelerate my lights on the dash board either dims down or gets brighter! and same goes with decceleration! so im guess its the alternator or I need a newer battery. 2nd everytime i start my car and accelerate fast or slow I hear a grinding noise it sounds more like a fast short burp and im thinking its my turbo! but would like to hear other opinions about it! will post pictures/ sound clips when I get my li-ion battery for my camera delivered!

 

All of the above could be caused by a faulty alternator or slipping belt. IF the alternator is not properly charging the battery, you will have issues. Are there any warning lights on the dash board illuminated? I would suggest taking the car to an Autozone and get the electrical system tested under load. They will do it for you. Once that is done, please let us know the results.

I once had a same issue and it was a failed voltage regulator in the alternator. I also had to make the engine re-learn idle after the installation of the new alternator.

The grinding noise is probably from the bearing for one of the pulleys (alternator?), but if you suspect the turbocharger, make sure to double-check on the engine oil level.

so i finally took a picture of my battery! well one of the batteries this is the aftermath after installing n running it! the other before this one was about the same thing that happend! any suggestions? Well I went to pep boys and they did a electrical diognoistic and they said I need to replace the alternator n battery
