Default boost controller

yo just bought my first volvo, which is a turbo wagon, i'm looking to get more boost out of this low pressure turbo. I know there is a factory boost controller on it and i know you can flash or chip your ECM to up the boost but i was wondering if you can bypass the factory controller and install a manual ball and spring? Any help would be awesome.

Yes you can easily I have them on both of my cars.
First you need to install an aftermarket guage to keep track of the boost levels accurately.

It is also very easy to install.

The factory one stays plugged on electronically and that's all.
Basically the MBC goes between the waste gate and compressor hoses on the turbo.
