Default Boost Surge on -95 850 Turbo

Hi Everybody!

Since this is my First post, I would just like to say that this seems like a great volvo forum, I have been looking around a few different places, and this seems to be the most reliable when it comes to longevity of my vehicle!

Now to the problem;

I had a mishap where the back heater hoses broke about a week ago, Had it fixed at a radiator shop, After this, I had no problems, However I decided to take the car in for a radiator flush.

After this radiator flush, Wich was performed by sub-par technicians it seems, My turbo boosts WAY high. I do not have a separate boost gauge other than the stock one, However, before all this happened with the heater hoses, The turbo would never charge much more than midway into the white area, I do not know if that was too little or not, But as of after the radiator flush, It will spool very fast, and boost all the way to the end of the white of the boost gauge.

I do not know if this is normal, and neither do I know what they might have done wrong during a Radiator flush!!!!

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks guys!!!

I would have to say that one of the vacuum lines between the turbo and the air box where the electronic boost controller is broke.

You might want to go through and replace all of them.

i think they might have popped off your wastegate vacuum hose, costly engine damage can be done if you overboost like that on the stock ecu tune.

Aaah, a freaking vacuum hose huh, go figure. Luckily I have not pushed the car to overboost like that more than the few times I trouble-shot what was going on. This car has to be driven for a few days before I will get a chance to fix it, Is this safe as long as I keep the boost level down??

If anybody has a pic of where I could find this hose, that would be swell

Thanks alot guys!
