Thumbs up Brake pad replacement instructions, Volvo S70 and most 850's

Here is a link to my step by step instructions for replacing brake pads on a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT. I believe the instructions are the same for most 850 cars.

Front pad replacement: http://www.atthetipwebs.com/technolo..._front_s70.htm

Rear pad replacement: http://www.atthetipwebs.com/technolo...ear_brakes.htm

Added both of these also to the Helpful Information thread.

I like your red S70 quite a bit!

Thanks for all the writeups. I don't get on much lately so there are probably more writeups that could be added. If you have some you want added let me know and I will add them. I don't like it when an entire page is made up of Stickies.

Id love to see a sticky thread made that is just called "repair database" or something. That'd be awesome.

I agree with this. It would make finding "how-tos" much easier.

If I take about five links out of the "Frequently Used Threads - Helpful Information" sticky, it would be all "How To" repairs.

I changed the title of it to Helpful Information - "How To" DIY Repairs

I consider the "Frequently Used Threads - Helpful Information" the "how to" thread. Having a page + of sticky's drive me crazy was well. I think having a thread be a sticky for 60 days is long enough. Then add it to a thread like the FREQ thread.

I just did about 5 of them. Some of pretty basic stuff but some of the site users are new to cars so the instructions for idiots method that I do is helpful for them.

I think a good thing to make a sticky note on would be the S70 section. Letting those folks know that the 850 is basically the same car and link it to the 850 "Frequently Used Threads - Helpful Information" link.

The S70 section is where I put those other write-ups. I put the yellow thumbs up on the thread link so you can check them out there.

Looks like I added links to those other instructions in the 850 section with the yellow thumbs up as well.

Gotta ask; is that red S70 running with the factory original 601 red or is that a new paint job? 'Cause it looks damn good!

It's the original 601 color but some parts have been painted because of college target practice. I'm not sure how much of it is original and man, I think it looks awsome as well. My daughter is very blessed to have that as her 1st car. I'm jealous as well. And that thing runs real good. For a low pressure turbo, I am very impressed. The torque tuning is set so low, I'm not sure to many stock cars can beat it to 60 mph. I want to get it to a 1/4 mile tract to test official times. I have eaten up some Mustangs, BMW's, Maxima's, and a few others with it.
