Exclamation Broken Odometer/Trip Meter/Service Light on after resetting 4 times

Hey everyone, I recently purchased a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT Sedan and I'm very impressed with this car. I've only had or drove trucks my whole life so it's a definite switch.

One thing that is really bugging me about this car is that the Odometer/Trip Meter are stopped at 108k.

The car sat for a while so I had to enter the radio code as well as reset the Check Engine Light (cool feature). At the same time I reset the Service Light as well.

I followed the steps I found on here and the Engine light has yet to come back on. Unfortunately I've reset the Service Light 4 times and it keeps coming back on.

Once I reset it, I turn the ignition off, then turn it back on and start the car. The light stays out BUT the Temp, Fuel, and RPM gauges shut off until I put the car in gear. Then, they all come to life and the Service Light starts blinking again. It's driving me nuts.

Is this related to the broken Odometer/Trip Meters??? Also, how do I fix the odometer without paying a fortune for a dealer to do it.

Thanks guys, any help will be greatly appreciated.

No I don't. I read about that too.

i also checked all the A side ports for errors and all I had was a fault code 2-3-2 in the Transmission for a - no signal from speedometer - or something similar. cleared it and the check engine light hasnt come back on.

the car runs and drives perfect. really the only thing wrong is the headlight wipers would turn on but didnt have the power to wipe so they would stay on continuously. I unplugged them and no light came on so I figured that didnt change anything.

But the service light is still blinking and the odometer/trip meters are stuck. I dont know anything about these cars and I read everything I could in the Haynes manual and still have no idea how to fix it.

I also took it and had the codes read from the OBD-II port and they said no a single code came up. So I really don't know what to do.

Yes I did, thank you. As soon as it warms up I will be doing all the maintenance I can afford. But I still really don't know what is causing my problem. I've been looking for days and hours to find the same case as me and I cannot find anything.
