A/C
Just finished T/B,b/joints brakes, runs good and smooth. Now I have tackled the A/C. System was barely charged compressor would cycle in short burts. Evaced the system put in a can and clutched cycled breifly, started putting in another can compressor has not cycled anymore. The oddest thing was compressor cycled with switch in acc off postion only. By passed low pressure switch, comp. still silent.
Any suggestions.

It is indeed odd. Was the vent selector at defrost? If set at defrost, it forces the A/C to turn on, regardless of the A/C switch position (on Automatic climate control).
Re-check to see if the system is holding pressure and make sure it is not leaking. Also, with the system ON, try tapping the compressor with long screwdriver, etc to see if it engages. If it does, you may have to re-shim the compressor. Tech has posted an instruction at the top.
