Default Camshaft Position sensor

Hi everybody! I am new to this forum and I would like to seek help in fixing my Volvo '96 850. My car occassionally would not start. After so many attempts of replacing parts related to ignition, I found out that when the CPS is taken out and sprayed with a cleaner, It would immediately start. The car would perfectly work for awhile (about 2 weeks) and starts to do the same. Due to fact that I had already spent fortune in guessing which part is really failing, I bought a used CPS and installed it. The car runs perfectly well for about 3 weeks before the original (won't start) problem occured.
Before I would buy a new CPS, is there a way to check this? Your suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Hi Tech,
Thanks for your response. Everythime I pull out the CPS, I make sure if there's any dirt, etc. and make sure I spray the sensor directly with an electronic contact cleaner. Nowadays I don't do that anymore. I just remove it and slap it immediately and it works for two weeks. As far as oil leaking on the CPS, there's none. Nice to hear from you again.

Maybe water is getting in there then drying.

Leaving it dirty.

Not sure exactly sounds a little fishy.

Maybe you just need a new one.
