Default Canadian speedo

I have a canadian cluster that I want to throw it in my car for novelty value.

The metric cluster doesn't have the multi-function readout though. I read the thread about swapping one in. This cluster would go into a car that already has that display, so that's covered, but I'm wondering if the combo of a metric cluster with a trip data readout from a U.S. spec car will be an issue. I don't know where all this stuff gets their various signals from, or how they interact with each other, and don't want to assume it's just plug & play.

I'll probably just have to plug stuff together and see what happens. I'd like to not have to tear my cluster apart a bunch of times to figure it out though, if possible, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Canadian cluster reads in kph, and litres per 100km. I cant say for certain if the US gallon/mile trip computer will work in it. The trip computer gets all of it's info through the cluster.
