can't get my key remotes to reprogram
Ok so the 95 850 I just bought came with 2 remotes which are not working. I checked both batteries and they are good. So after searching I found the thread that explains how to reporgram them but they still dont work.
I see that they have several OEM remotes for sell on EBAY. My question is if I buy one from EBAY will the reprogramming work.
Is there a way to test my remotes to see if they are damaged or not?
Also they sell key on EBAY. Is there a security chip in the keys?
Thanks

On a '95 there is no chip in the key.
Assuming that the remotes are the proper series for the receiver they should reprogram with the key on / key off - stop in position II on the fifth hit and push the lock or unlock button. Make sure all of the doors are closed when you do it.
I have had to futz with mine a few time to get the programming to take.

The remotes for 93-95 are same generally but the ones from 96 and up are different. If you take a close look, the lock -unlock buttons on old styles (93-95) are oval kind and the newer ones are rectangular with rounded corners. I tried rogramming the newer one kind to my 94 and it doesnt work. but i could successfully program my original one that came with car and the one I got from Junkyard so that I have 2 remotes.
The process is very simple but make sure you :
1 - All doors including trunk and hood closed.. and
2- Turn the key from OFF to ON position 5 times leaving it on ON at 5th time and then press any button on remote(s) that you want to program.
