Default Can't Tell If My Turbo Is Kicking The Bucket

So I started my car today and a horrible faint rubbing metal sound was heard. Sounded like a unlubricated bolt spinning around. I rev the engine and it just made it worst. I can't tell if it's coming from the top of the engine were the cams are or it is indeed the turbo. Sounds like the top back area. Decided to go for a short spin and it just increase with volume. After awhile it went away, but when you park at idle you can still get it to sound when you rev it. Any ideas? My phone says it's 29F outside right now.

Could you remove a boost pipe and spin the turbo with an air compressor, or by hand?

Unfortunately I'm at college and don't have any tools with me. But it does sounds like this during heavy acceleration in the being. Not as noticeable after I pulled over let it idle for 10 minutes later and accelerated again. Also I can't tell if it's smoking or not, because it's cold outside.

You would need to get in there and pull the tube to the turbo and see if you can feel any play in the shaft. If it sounds anything like the video I'd guess you're turbo is going out. From what you describe it may have been from forgotten LOF's or just shutting it down when it was too hot and it's coked up inside and the oil has a hard time getting to the bearings.

Believe or not the sound is gone. Power is back to normal too (not that noticeable in the first place). Went on the highway and everything was working right like it never even happened. So strange. :/
