Default changing thermostat 1995 850 wagon

My 1995 850 wagon is overheating and I need to change the thermostat. I have the 5" long t-40 socket. Directly over one of the bolts is a fuel line. Can I just loosen the fitting and move the line out of the way, then reattach it when I am done? Thanks for your help

Yes you can. I was able to get it off with the fuel line in place on the Platinum but buy the "new style" bolts before you even attempt it. They are only a couple of bucks each even at the list price plus 40% thieves at Rick Hendrick Superior Volvo. If you have the aluminum bolts there is a 99% chance that you will strip the head in the process of getting the old ones off.

I recommend putting some PB on the bolts the night before you do the job that way you don't have an issue getting the bolts out.

Here is my T-40 adapter:

I used PB Blaster the day before and didn't have any issues getting the bolts out. I reused them as well. When I put them back in I put anti-seize on the thread. I just wiggled the T-stat out after I took the two hex bolts out and didn't take anything else off, at the forums suggestion. It worked fine.

All good advice. The best one is to replace the bolts when you do get the T-40 one out.
