This is for a '95 but it is pretty much all the same:

After you unzip it see the file named system wiring diagrams.pdf,the climate unitsshould be right at the top. If you need more detail you can download the factory electrical manual from http://volvo.techno.org.pl/. It is a Polish site and it is very slow, click the link called Schematy - from there stuff is in English. Those schematics are in a painful format but they do detail all of the junctions and branching points. Most of them are missing various pages so you might want to download several years worth to get a complete picture.

To the best of my knowledge there are no component level schematics for the control unit itself on the web.
