Default code 1-1-3

O.k My car has not been 100% it run good and all but it feels like something is missing.(like when i stump on it the tire dont brake loose.) so I ran the codes just to see if anything up and it came up with code 1-1-3. According to my repair manual is fuel mixture.I have brand new spark plugs and the cap, rotor and cables are about six month old. any Idea what can it be.

3-1-1 is an ABS sensor code. The sensor on the Front Left wheel could just b dirty so I could just give it a good cleaning before replacing it.

The 1-1-3 code could be caused by the O2 sensor could bad. How is your gas mileage.

Keep in mind that Volvos do not like being treated with non-OEM parts. When you did the tune-up, did you use OEM? Even lesser-quality spark plugs can render Volvos run poor.

Your ABS module is probably shot; a common problem. For '93-'95, two components other than the module are known to cause ABS system trouble. There is a thread posted by a gentleman named Arzy, and Arzy has successfully repaired the ABS system by repairing one or two components other than the module.

For 96-97, it is usually the module. Unfortunately, not many places deal with 93-95 modules and if the module is bad, you need to dissect the module, which requires knowledge in basic electronics, soldering iron, and may be some SMD (Surface Mount Device; resistors, capacitors, transistors, etc...). The module-related trouble is usually due to poor/loose soldering.

Just found the two notorious ABS-related components. Arzy's post has the same pics. The pedal sensor & brake light switches are known to fail on '93-'95.

I'm running Bosch Cap and rotor and Bosch Platinum plugs gap at .28 . I also have IPD cables and MSD coil. the car feels a little lag for the first sec or two than it pick up and goes. the boost build up as it should. As for the ABS I also notice the the track button those nothing shouldn't the light on the dash light up when the track is on ?. could it be from that wheel sensor being bad ?
Thanks for all the input.

Any vacuum leaks? Check the hoses good. Make sure you check the intercooler hoses.

One common place is the TB hose at the very bottom. It will only leak under boost.

I wonder if it is a MAF or O2 problem.

Not always. Do you have an OBDII scanner that reads real time?

Well if you had one to read real time you could see if the O2 is sweeping like it should be.
I have wanted to try this but it will only read engine on our 95's.

Maybe they have another one that will work good.
I have this one I use on my laptop.

I can read real time on the 95 with that.It also works on other cars as well.

well I think I will live with it for a little while or at least till after the holidays. My exhaust is starting to rust in a few spot. so when i replace tat I'll do an o2 sensor also hope that will do it.
