Default Cold Air Intake

Ok Im new to the Volvo scene and am wondering how to make or where to get a CAI for a 1995 volvo 850 GLT (non Turbo) 2.4. Also any other help in performance would help me out as Ive never worked on a Volvo before. Also does anyone know where I can get thie front spoiler add-on in this pic? Thanks again.

It doesn't do anything. The stock airbox is very very good.

Welcome to the forum

1. There are no intakes made for the N/A Volvo's.

2. You could try EST's and or IPD USA's short ram intake systems for the turbo models and see if they fit your N/A. Or you could make your own.

Have you searched this forum at all? If you haven't you will want to look into these two threads below.
https://volvoforums.com/m_38606/tm.htm
https://volvoforums.com/m_65537/tm.htm
Especially the first one. On the QBM website you will see a HOW TO to make your own intake, this might be your best bet.

3. Your N/A meaning no turbo or supercharger. IMO and in many others opinions it is pointless you put engine mods your N/A because you wont gain much if anything. Unless your planning on going extreme and then your talking big big big bucks. If you have to do engine mods to your N/A I would suggest the following.

-Keep your stock airbox and put a performance panel filter in such as K&N. And or create your own CAI of some kind. You may gain 2-5 Hp with this mod.

-2.25" catback system with a baffled muffler such as a Flowmaster. You may gain 5-10 Hp with this mod.

-N/A ECU upgrade. I know a few people on another forum did this and they were decently pleased with it. You wont see the gains you do if your turboed but you will see some gains hopefully. 10-20 Hp with this mod.

You noticed I said may gain. You may loose Hp too. You wont always gain and you wont always loose, but you never know.

Also the front spoiler was for the Volvo Brock drove in ATCC. It was also on the 850 that Rydell, Lammers, Burt drove in the BTCC. Very hard to come by in the states. You might want to look on some foreign Volvo forums and ask them. I know you just can't go to some online store and buy it.

VST makes the front bumper you see above. I know of one person in the U.S. that has one. It is pretty exspensive and not to mention the cost to import from Japan.

REALCAR makes the front bumper your see above. Again another over the seas place, pretty exspensive and the cost to import I don't want to know.

What I recommend you do is this.

1. Suspension
- IPD USA sway bars
- IPD USA HD or QBM Extreme sway bar endlinks
- Strut brace
- Lowering springs

2. Exterior
- Eggcrate or mesh grille or go custom
- Eyelids
- HID's
- Angel Eye kit from SharpHID
- 17"-18" rims and tires
- E-code headlight lenses and or the Chrome or Black Jewel headlights
- Tint, check your local tint laws

3. Interior
- Interior light upgrade to LED's
- Dash kit
- Ipod adapter if you don't already have one, that is if you have an Ipod.
- Aluminum lock *****

4. Audio
You get the idea with this one.

I would take S70 Drivers advice...He has been modding the 850/S70 model for a while now!
