Coolant leak above transmission and wet floor?
Ive been losing coolant for a while now. replaced the reservoir cap and it fixed a small leak there but i still was losing coolant. Yesterday I topped off and this morning it was all gone. Thought i found a spot above the transmission under the air intake duct but i haven't had time to pinpoint that. Is there a common spot under there where leaks occur?
Then when i got to work i noticed the drivers side carpet was soaked. I thought the heater core was more towards the passenger carpet.

the heater core is on the drivers side.removing the heater core has to do with working on the drivers side not the passengers side. you probably answered your own question.the heater core is probably gone.warm up your car and turn on your heat, get back to us and tell us if you smelled something with the heat on.
do you see any coolant on above the transmission? pictures will be appreciated.

it will be a good idea when you take pictures of the leak seen on the transmission.we can figure out which hose is leaking.

His profile says SC. One of the few people that include that. LOL
The heater core is in the middle of the interior behind the radio. It usually leaks on the drivers side. Also, the tubes that run to the core are on the drivers side.
If you get enough water on the floor it will leak under the car and maybe on the tranny, kinda doubt it. The hoses to the heater core go through the firewall on the drivers side. If they are leaking, maybe it can spray coolant on the tranny.
FIX IT BEFORE YOU OVERHEAT THE CAR AND DESTROY THE MOTOR.

thats pretty cheap. l have never used that part before, so l dont know how good it was made. but if you plan to own that car for a long time go with OEM behr heater core if your pockets allows it.they last longer.fcp has one for cheap like 112 plus a discount with free shipping.
