Default Damn squeal from the breaks!

850 glt and every time it hit the breaks I get a high pitch squeal from the breaks. I have kids in the neighborhood covering their ears it is so loud. I took it in to have them checked out and 40 bucks later all I got was one day of quiet. Now it's back to the same thing. Any ideas would be most helpful.
Thx!

Change the pads, might have been contaminated with something that has covered their surface?

Apply gobs of disc brake quiet on the back of the pads and also on the few mm wide lip on the side of the pads. That'll quiet it all down.

Make sure none gets on the front of the pads between the pads and the rotors.

Next time children cover their ears when you're squealing by, creep away at 2mph draggng the brakes while you smirk at them, that'll show em..heehee

That's a great idea Vmax, those darn hooligans! Thanks for the advise, I'll give it a shot. Also, I don't think it's the pads because if it were they would gave worn off by now. I commute 90 miles a day and it's been doing it for over a week. So I'll try the gobs of disc quiet. Thx again.

Not just the pad backs, you also need to grease the slide points

What kind of pads do you have? If they are squealing during the duration of the brake application, greasing the backs or slides isn't going to do it. The pads are probably cheap aftermarket ones.
