so I brought a radio sc-801 for my volvo 850 and I cant seeM to get a code for it. all I have is the serial number for the radio and apparently volvo themselves don't have the number on file: serial no: ALE41AT0349683 I mean the 6 looks a bit sketchy so could be worst case ALE41AT0349583. I don't know what to do now, any ideas?

I have tried yes and that site in particular doesn't do the older radios. Some sites cost which I don't mind paying but none of them have confirmed they can do it yet

When I used to call for radio codes (to the guys in the parts department at the dealer) sometimes it would take one of the veterans to have the knowledge of how to get the info from Volvo. Sometimes they wanted the info faxed to them so they could get to it during a break. (model, serial number and part number) Possibly the dealer you are trying has younger people who have not had to find a radio code for a 25 year old radio, and really don't have an interest in helping you (there's no commission involved)

When I purchased a couple hundred thousand dollars per year in parts from Volvo, they would go out of their way to find the code for me and always came up with the right code.
