Driver side windshield blade won't wipe
Hi,
I recently got a 1996 Volvo 850 wagon. The wipers were working fine until a large amount of snow slipped from the roof and temporarily stopped the wipers. As I was removing the snow, I realized the wipers were still on. They initially pushed the snow off the windshield, however the next time I started the car and wipers, only the passenger side wiper worked. Any ideas? Thanks in advance,
George

Known defect. The main solution is to replace the entire arm. There are however a few fixes. Some propose removing the arm and bending it slightly in a vice. The following worked for me just fine...

Tighten the nut where the arm fastens. They are known to come loose. What Max said is if the blade is coming off the windshield on the left of the windshield, but if it's not moving at all try tighening the nut. When you open the hood and see the arm you will know what I'm saying.
