Electric to manual seat swap ????
Hello everyone. I did a search and didn't find much info on this. I'd like to change my electric seats to manual ones. I've got a '95 850 non turbo with black leather seats.
Beyond finding similar seats, ie, black leather, is it a direct swap as far as the bolt patterns and such? I'd be glad to trade with someone who has manual seats wanting to convert to electric. Thanks in advance for any info.
Someone out there will ask why I'd want to change from elec to manual so here's the answer. It's just one less thing that will fail and I'll have to fix.

SMH = shaking my head
and i havent heard of many people having problems with the electric seats... i actually got seats out of a t5r and put them in my base 850 they work great.. straight swap either way! expecially easy if they left a empty plug for the power seats like they did on mine.

I just did this swap, except mine was not easy.
I bought tan v70R seats, and the passenger side electrics never worked. I wanted to keep the v70r skins/foams, but I wanted the seat to work, and lose the extra weight. There are 4 electric motors in the seat.
So I got a s70 passenger manual seat ( its gray, but whatever)
It's a job that took me a few hours and I already had experience swapping skins... I lied, it took me like 6 hours.
First you strip the skins off the new seat, I knew I wasnt going to be reusing the hog rings, so I cut the accessible ones off with an air grinder, the rest I snipped off.
Then I removed the foams off the s70 seat, the v70R foams have bigger bottom side bolster so it needed to be swapped.
Second I carefully stripped off the v70r skins
I did the bottom part easily, the top part took a long time to strip. I replaced the hog rings with tie wraps, Ive used these on my seats in the past, and it lasts!
I cut a hole in the v70r leather for the seat back adjuster ****.
Got everything reinstalled and I like having a manual seat, im considering doing my driver side as well as the electrics seem to be getting shoddy.
You may not have to swap skins if you find seats in good shape, but it is possible. Also it may be cheaper to buy just the skins.
