Default Engine Replacement

I have a 1985 850 Turbo that I had to replace the engine at 120k miles. I purchased the car with 35K miles and had all of the required maintenance performed. The car just died one night while I was driving without any warning or warning lights. The mechanic told me that it was one of the main bearings that went bad. We replaced the engine with a used one that had 75k miles and have put another 10k on the car. I have not posted to this forum before, but in reading all the posts, I do not see anything like this. How rare is this?

That is very Rare.
Usually it only happens when it is run very low on oil.

Or could it be a failed timing belt?

Just a thought.
