Error Code Reading troubles
Hi I'm trying to get the error codes from my car but I am having a little difficulty with it.
I have got a bunch of codes from A1, A2 A3, a&, B1, B2 & B5. For some reason I am not getting any response from terminal A6, not even a 1-1-1.
another problem is that I could not manage to erase codes using this method:
Any Ideas on what might be happening here?
-Mike
FYI car is a 1994 850 Turbo

the ignition switch to the ON position(engine not running).,then depress the button for 5 seconds and release. After 3 seconds, the LED should light up.While the LED is lit, depress the button again for 5 seconds, when the button is released, the LED should go out

Does the light even turn on when you push the button in A6?
There might not be anything in that terminal depending on which options are on your car. I forget what A6 is, but I know some of them are empty depending on what equipment is on the car.

Terminal A6 is only used on cars fitted with the LH 3.2-Jetronic engine management system and the EZ-129K ignition system. It actually reads codes from that ignition system.
Engine types are B5204S, B5234S and in some countries B5254S.

where I have the B5234T i'm assuming i do not have that type ignition system. I think there is a contact in port A6 it's not empty like A5 for trans ctrl is on mine but i guess it's just unused.
I was using this list http://www.troublecodes.net/Volvo/ for error codes but i have a few that are not showing up on there:
4-1-2 - Return valve for LH front brake, open circuit or short circuit.
4-1-5
4-1-7
4-1-8
Also I have not tried again but I couldn't get the directions to work on erasing codes, any ideas on that?
thx

It could be either ABS or TRACS however, I do not know why the relevant warning light(s) are not operating.
I assume all the warning lights light-up on the dashboard when the ignition is turned on.

Yeah hey light up on start up but do not stay on,perhaps it's some glitch in memory. I want to erase them to see if they will come back but I can't get them to go. I had 20 codes in total to show up.
During the cars history, somebody has overlooked checking out the fault codes on a regular basis for the diagnostic unit to have so many faults stored in memory.
Found some more fault codes
4-1-5 Passenger side interior temperature sensor inlet fan shorted to earth.
4-1-7 Passenger side interior interior temperature sensor inlet fan seized.
4-1-8 No control; to signal to blower fan power stage.
I'll let you pick the bones out of all that. Best of luck!
