I wonder what my wife would say about keeping an old engine around the house for spare parts. I'd probably end up sleeping outside with the dog.
I have one engine sitting on the floor and the mustang sitting burried under boxes in my garage.

My garage is a 2 car and only fits one.
About a 1/4 of the stuff in there is hers so we are even!! LOL

My three car garage holds three cars, and I will keep it that way. I put up a rather cheap shed in the backyard, and I'll put up another one if I have to. My Dad always insisted that garages are made to keep cars in, and cars stay nicer when kept in a garage. My kids are doing the same thing, except for my one daughter that is married to a mechanic. I guess that's the answer right there.

At home though the folks have 3 bays the BMW and the new XC70 are inside two of them. The 245 was ousted by bikes, mowers, and well you get the point....

Well I got the engine swapped and all hooked up except the downpipe. I went to hook it up and the turbo that was on the wrecking yard is a little bigger and my downpipe doesn't fit onto it. The new engine was out of a 97. I was just comparing the two turbos and my original turbo's inlet and outlets are definatly smaller. I could just put my old turbo with 120,000 miles on it but I can feel some shaft play in it and this other one is nice and tight, plus it will clearly flow more. I'm wondering if it was off a R model. Do you guys know if there was any different downpipes between the years and or R models vs regular turbo models? There is 850R wagon at the u-pull-it yard down the street I could get on of from if thats the case. Thanks guys! Oh car is a 95 wagon.

I'm almost certain that the turbo on the R and the regular turbo T5 and exactly the same for a given year. Maybe the difference is from year to year, but I'm not sure.
