Free 97 850 to a good home, for parts or to fix
I have a 97 850 base model sedan with an unknown number of miles (odometer stopped in 2010 with 176k.) It was my first car and my ride or die. I named it Monty. Sadly Monty has been left to rust for half a year as I've been unable to afford the repairs. I have a high maintenance S80 and a daily driver Corolla to worry about. I would much rather it went to an enthusiast who could use it directly for parts or even fix it up to some of its former glory, I do not want it to rot away in a scrap yard as it is very sentimental to me. It needs heavy suspension work, valve cover gaskets, fluid flushes, likely rotors and calipers and tires, and there are wires hanging from the fuel pump which is why it has been unable to start for a while. It also has no working traction control, possibly due to suspension damage, and a strange vibration noise from the engine which so far has not been diagnosed (I can send a video of the sound). Cosmetic issues include no interior lights as the rocker switch fell out, a hanging headliner, and a leaky trunk. Despite these flaws it still has many new or still fully functional parts and the transmission shifts incredibly smoothly. The engine still runs but needs a good tune up. It would make a great parts car or project car to restore. I am located in Central KY and if you can haul it you can have it. I won't be parting it out as I have no tools or time to do so.
