Default front wheel and bearing

I just replaced the passenger wheel bearing and control arm on my 94 850. the crunch was gone along with the shake at 50 mph, however with the window down today i could hear a high pitch whine like glazed rotors. it whines only while moving clutch in, or out fast slow, forward, reverse. i just sprayed the rotor down with brake clean to make sure that wasnt it. didnt help. any ideas?

Sounds like maybe the brake backing plate (sheet metal behind the hub area) got bent and is rubbing on the rotor. Common issue when working in the area.

Only thing i don't understand why the clutch being in/out would affect it..?

What he said. Sometimes if you are not paying attention you can bend that backing plate as it doesn't take much and it will give off a higher pitch scraping noise.
That and did you torque the CV axle nut to the proper torque when you installed that hub bearing ?? The proper torque on that nut helps hold the bearing together in the proper place. Wrong torque and you can eight leave it with too much play or crush it. Either way you shorted it's life considerably. Also never use an impact. If you're using an impact to remove or tighten it down you are basically beating the gears inside the transmission against each other until that nut finally loosens up

I took it apart again and double checked my work. i didnt replace the backing plate as it was too far gone to be of any use. I only use hand tools. the brake rotor was mucked up after just a few trips around the block with the whine. so I replaced rotors and pads. I am still not really sure of what caused the caliper to be so far off. the best I can think is that I may have torqued the upper caliper bolt too tight.
