Front Wheel Bearing replacement
Hello Forum!
Been a while since my last post -- which is a good thing, as my transmission (I thought) problems were cured by the ignition switch! My question now is that the front right wheel bearing is making noise -- how hard is it for the average joe to replace? Also, on the left side, I have a slight thunk over some bumps and the car feels like it slides slightly if I'm coming to a stop and run over a pavement shift. Any ideas there?
Thanks!

The wheel bearing is pretty easy. When you are ready to tackle it let em know and I will walk you through it.
For the clunking check the upper spring seats.Get a 13/16 Wrench and try to turn the nut on the top of the strut. If it turn the spring seat is bad. If it feels rubbery then it is good.

Thanks, Tech, I'll check that in the daylight!
One of the links that you included on the 'general' page has wheel bearings for about $100 -- that seems pretty good. What do you think?

Well, my brother, (the bona fide mechanic) replaced the ol' wheel bearing at the shop. So, that helped -- next are the ball joints, are those pretty easy? I had an old Saab 99 that took about 15 minutes to do in the driveway -- how are these in comparison?
