Default Fuel pump/filter removal

just to clarify if i'm doing this right, in order to remove both i need to releave fuel pressure, so by doign this i unplug the fuel pump/sensor(from the back passenger side) run the car till it stops gettign fuel, then unplug the battery correct? then i go about changing it all, then i just hook it back up and try to start it and it should run again correct??

I found it was just easier to use the release valve (looks like a tire stem) just behind the fuel filter. just unscrew the cap and release the pressure. (have a couple of rags available).

You could also start the car and remove the fuel pump fuss. This will work too.
