Unhappy Gearbox problem

My 96 Volvo 850T5 was with the gearbox rear mounting broken. The car stayed on the garage for some time waiting for this rear mounting that I have bought from Germany. I drove the car for some hours and put it again in the garage. After two days when I started it again, the reverse gear did not engage, only the D and the others was OK, but it there was some stride when they were engaged. .
No lights appear on the panel. I suppose that the transmission oil never was changed and the car it is with 65.000 miles. Was the gearbox damaged due to drive the car with the its rear mounting broken? A change of the oil and the replacement of the PNP position switch could be solve the problem? Thanks in advance for any information.

With the mount broken, the transmission would have moved around a lot. The gear selector is cable activated so I would not be surprised if it got bound up.

If you lost reverse you probably need to have the unit checked.

Thank you very much Tony for your ´prompt response. I was concern that it could be needed to checking the gearbox, but as this costs a lot I tried to review this matter through the Web. Best regards.
