I have a 97 850 wagon with about 265,000 miles on it. I have the opportunity to get a 98 v70 wagon with about 180,000 miles on it for $400. I'm wondering how many of the parts from the 98 if any will work on my 97. The 98 has some body damage and according to an alignment shop the subframe is bent. Thanks.

 

Not many. There were about 700 changes to the S/V 70's.

 

Would the engine or transmission work at least? What worth to part it out?

 

Check the engine components on the v70. It would be a good purchase at 400. You can use the waterpump, starter, alternator, calipers, rotors, radiator depending on if both cars are N/A or turbo, heater core...Those are the main ones that would cost you over 400 to replace. You can then part out the car if you have room to store it...People always need parts, put an ad up on here and craigslist or kijiji.
