Default Ground wires.

A while ago i was working on my 240 when i noticed the braided ground wire that runs from the top of the head to the firewall. It's made up of a good number of small wires, and it didn't look all that good. It was pretty corroded and had literally 1 small wire left that holding the end connector on.

So i ran down to a local chain boat store and grabbed some number 8 wire a couple connectors, and some shrink wrap.

Unfortunately i must have lost the pictures of the ones for the 240 (it was impressive how little was holding this together).

However, today while replacing my Vacuum lines on my 850, i noticed that it had 2 of these same kind of wires running from the top of the head to the firewall, and the passenger side fender. Both were in a little better shape then my 240, however still about half of the wires were corroded right though. I found my way back down to the boat store and here's what i got.

an end.

They are made of all marine quality parts, UL listed connectors and wiring, and the shrink wrap is the best i have ever seen. They parts aren't on the cheap side, but if its made to last in saltwater for years, it should last forever in a car.

Go out and check your ground wires out. If mine were beat i bet yours will be too.
