Headlights won't come on
94 850 wagon the lights won't come on with the switch they work if you hold the dimmer switch up. I've replace the dimmer switch and the main headlight relay still no help :( Is there another relay somewhere or ?

Maybe the main switch is bad. The do come apart in the back. You can simply pull it out (or push it from the back of the switch), unplug it and see if it's falling apart. I have one if you need it. Just let me know.

The headlight switch itself is just on/off. If you can get the lights to come on when you pull up on the lever you are probably seeing the high beams, the ones closest to the radiator. That means you're getting power through the headlight switch and to the dimmer switch on the steering column.
Any chance it's just the bulbs burnt out? Have you tried to check the headlight sockets with a test light or voltmeter to see if there is voltage there? |
No the low beams come on also when you used the dimmer switch when the light switch is in the on position

When the back of my head light switch fell apart the high beams still worked but the reverse and head lights did not.

If the low beams come on but only when you pull up on the signal lever it sounds like the replacement switch might be bad.
