Heated seat switches supposed to light-up at night?
As the title says. I recently joined the forums and am looking to find answers to several questions, this being one of them. When I turn on the lights at night, everything lights-up in the interior, except the front heated seat switches, and the winter/economy/sport shift selector button. Both the seat heater switches and shifter selector light-up when turned on, but there is no guide light for them at night, (i.e. I have to turn the dome light on at night in order to find the switches). Are they supposed to be that way? if not, are the bulbs replaceable, or would I need to replace the switches altogether?
Car: 1997 Volvo 850 wagon, non-turbo.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Yes they are supposed to light up. As for bulbs: pull the switches out - some have replaceable bulbs and some do not. you'll have to look at the back of the switch and see. If they are replaceable, be prepared to bend over for the bulbs....they are pricey. Do what I did and swipe good bulbs out of junkyard cars.

Switch lamps
I've good success just replacing the bulbs while using the bulb holders again. On the backside of the switch you will find the base of the bulb holder. It is white and can be removed with a small straight screwdriver. Turn it 90 degrees anti-clockwise. Unwind the bulb from the holder with a small sharp knife. I get replacement bulbs at Radio Shack, part number: 272-1092 12 volt micro lamp. Two bulbs for less than $2. Good luck.
