Default heating cooling codes

hey guys I had an intermittanly loud blower fan. Now it doesn't blow at all. the ac had been cutting in and out driving lately too which i attributed to the 111 degree heat.

i'm showing codes

411 - Blower fan seized or drawing excessive current

414 - Driver side interior temperature sensor inlet fan seized

418 - No control signal to blower fan power stage

it sounds like the over current from the fan dieing, has blown something. Am I looking at a blown resistor, or the EEC thing?

what is the EEC BTW?

When the blower fan bearings go bad and it goes into an over current mode it often takes out the power stage (blower resistor) with it. A new blower and a new power stage will fix that.

The other code is for the fan on the temp sensor fan on the driver's side which is located just above the grab bar on the deriver's side of the car. You can usually clean the lint and crud out of that fan and give it a blast of aerosol lubricant and get it to work again.

On the ECC it is technically a "power stage", on the MCC it is indeed a resistor pack. They get called a blower resistor for both on most of the parts sites so be careful when ordering and get the proper part - they are not interchangeable.

Since one of your codes was for the temp sensor fan and since you could actually pull codes yours is an ECC.

Well I replaced the blower with the one I linked above (MUCH CHEAPER THAN MOST PLACES). And now the blower just stays on constantly even at key off. I unplugged it for now. I this a normal sign of power stage going out?

The power stage can go out in two different ways - it can open and the blower won't run at all or it can short out and the fan will never shut off. Even key off will not shut the fan off if the power stage is shorted out.
