Help needed 1993 850
Forgive this newbie question. I have a 1993 850 and need to correctly identify the PCF valve, and the intake manifold. I'm having a sort of "re-birth" in trying to finally figure out basic mechanics (I avoided such details when I was younger!), and want to order an engine service manual (any suggestions - Haynes, vs. Childers, etc.?), but I'm really interested in getting some basics down immediately. If I were to take few pictures of my engine, would someone be able to point out these basic parts? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure what a PCF valve is but looking at my keyboard I'm going to guess that you meant the PCV valve (The F and the V are close to each other).
On an 850 there is no PCV valve but rather a PCV system that involves an oil trap and several pipes and hoses.
As far as manuals go I would suggest the Haynes over the Chilton's, there is a certain amount of "British" to "English" translation involved but it is much more detailed.
Another terrific resource is here:

The manual is for a '95 but it is 99% compatible with your car. The biggest difference that you must pay attention to is the timing belt change interval. Do not exceed 50,000 miles on a '93.

Lee,
Fabulous information - yes, I meant PCV valve! The link was tremendous and thanks on the heads up on manuals and the timing belt. I have a bunch to now sort through! Hey, I have another question - I have the check engine light that goes on when I start the car, then turns off about 1 minute after the car is started and driving. Has been doing this for several hundred miles. How can I find out what and why it is going on, or should I not fool with it and get it to a mechanic (I'll also go through the details on the matthewsvolvolink to see if I can find some clues). Great information and thanks again!
