HELP!! Tracs and ABS light on in dash and not throwing code??
 

I have a '97 850R GLT and I am having a problem with the trac and ABS lights in the dash come on. I have a code scanner and nothing is pulling up. My check engine light is on all the time and the only code that pulls is the MAP sensor. So I am aware of that one. But I was wondering if anyone had some insight as to why these other lights would be coming on, and what is the most cost affective way to resolve it without going to a mechanic and paying with my first born!

I have checked the other existing forums, and I am not sure if I am looking in the right place or if anyone else has seen this similar issue.

Your scanner will not pull codes for the ABS.

It is quite possible that the ABS module has developed the fault common to these units. They can be re-built.

I would say bad ABS module.

+1 on the ABS module. I would pull it and send it off to be rebuilt. Easy to do and not that expensive.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record. Yes, I would follow all the above advice and repair the ABS module

I had these lights, and my mech pulled a code for ABS pump, I still went to the dealer who said "bad ABS computer", when I asked why the code is for the ABS pump, they said "computer is throwing wrong code"-long story made short: replaced pump, no more problems.

I have only ever replaced 1 pump and about 400 ABS modules for the pump codes.
