Default How do you let refrigerant out of the system?

Is there any way? I overfilled it and now my compressor is making dumb noises at WOT and the solenoid clicks on and off every half second.

I usually have a service center take some out. You can take an empty can, connect it to the system, and that may let some of the system back out. Not sure, be careful.

NOTE: This is illegal and not safe.

With the engine off, take the cover off of the inlet valve and poke a small implement into the valve and the gas will escape much like letting air out of a tire. Please note that the escaping gas could freeze your finger and cause injury.

Again, this is illegal and not recommended. The refrigerant is supposed to be recaptured by a qualified shop.

How do you know it is over filled? Did you put gauges on it to check pressures? As stated venting into the atmosphere is illegal and when the gas expands it cools rapidly and can freeze skin, eyes etc.
