Since I'm sbrand new tro the volvo realm I'm only starting to get used to my car.

I was wondering what kind of fuel economey you are getting on your cars. I have a 1994 2.3L Turbo wagon 850 and I have been getting about 450Km/60L city driving, that's approx 280mi/15.5 US Gal. Does that sound about right?

What are you people getting?

In 100% pure city driving I've dipped down to 20MPG.
In 100% pure highway driving I managed 35MPG (I have no clue how). Typically for highway I'm in the 26-30MPG range

I don't do a whole lot of mixed driving.

28 - 30 miles per UK Gallon on mixed driving.

 

I'm doing terrible.

19.4 MPG and it seems like I run through gas relaly relaly fast. I don't drive much either...

 

filled up again tonite, 540Km on 60L, 336 mi on 15.6 gal 21.54mpg

 

I get about 23.5mpg (US) for mainly city driving. Considering I drive like fairly heavy footed that is ok with me. I have just had new sparkies put in, and a new 02 sensor as well. But I think I am still misfiring a bit so I am not convinced I am running on all 5 cyls, it seems to be hesitating a bit and it farts about 5000rpm, so that could explain why. But then saying that, I was getting the same economy before as well.

I am getting some new leads shortly too, hopefully the car will run that bit better but I don't expect the fuel economy to change, unless it does run a lot better and I can't help but drive like a dick all the time rather than only 50% of the time.

 

Drove from MI to NJ last night. 26.7MPG on the HWY@ 80MPH with some WOT moments and a few suitcases and boxes in the back.

 

not everyone is stating if they have a turbo or not, i'm sure that makes a difference

 

Well I'm running NA

 

My T5 wagon was returning about 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway (speed approx. 60 mph) until it hit a bloody big red kangaroo.

Fuel consumption hasn't been a problem since.

N.B. (Booked into panel shop for next week).

 

93 850 n/a average 30 to 35 mpg (imperial) mostly hwy driving. standard trans

 

93 N/A I've been averaging 24 MPG, usually 50/50 driving. If it's an automatic, keep it in economy mode and be nice, you should get some decent mileage out of it.

Edit: The best part about the car is the fact that I can almost go 500 miles on a single tank of gas (strictly freeway driving). Usually 450-475 miles (20 gallon tank)

 

Once I fill up, I can only go about 330-340 miles according to the guage. My milage sucks....

19.7 right now and going down...
