1995 850 turbo wagon 193K.. started last night with a whistle coming from a small vent of some sort located behind the grab handleabove the drivers door. ( sounds like a vacuum leak ) I have no idea what the little vent hole is for it's about 3/8 inch in diameterand also on the passenger side. any help with this would be great it's so loud my wife won't drive the car

That should be the little sensor for your automatic climate control system. There's a little fan on it. Did you notice whether you have the dreaded flashing lights on your climate controls? If you have a can of compressed air, you can try blowing it out to see if maybe that loosens up any dirt that might be affecting it. Otherwise, you'll have to replace it (dropping the headliner - awkward but a do-it-yourself project).

 

How annoying that is.
