Whistle sound from engine

Whistle sound from engine
Hi! Anyone that can help me with this? Is my turbo about to give in?
I have a 2005 XC70 and can hear a low but clear whistling sound from the engine when I accelerate. I do not get this sound when the car is in neutral, and I need to put some load on the engine before it hits in (up-hill). The sound is there only at a certain rpm interval (around 1800 +/- 100) and more present when engine is cold, but also with warm engine at cold ambient temperatures (below zero).
Anyone with similar experience?
Hoping it is nothing to worry about...

RE: Whistle sound from engine
There are number of reason why engine whistles. It would be great to inspect all your car parts and check for a vacuum leak, cracked hoses, cracked intake hose etc. check also your intake manifold. After checking the parts, keep us posted and tell what other things did you notice.
