IPD Coil Springs Review?

IPD Coil Springs Review?
Has anyone purchased the IPD Coil Spring set for the 850 before? How do they ride and would you recommend them for a mildly tuned daily driver?
Thanks for any input!

when it comes to lowering springs there are two kinds - progressive rate springs and lowering springs. Progressive rate springs have a gradient in the coil to allow for the initial travel to be softer and then firm up the further the travel. The second thing to note is the amount of lowering the spring will provide. This will vary by product. Finally, to optimize handling and ride, springs should be matched to the shock. My first question for IPD would be to ask who the OEM source is and what shocks they recommend for pairing. There are other brands to consider - Eibach, HR, B&G etc - check out shox.com for pricing and tech specs. Personally, I'd leave the springs as stock, consider upgrading the shocks on their own and go directly for the IPD sway bars. I did the 25f/22r set up on my 850 and was stunned by the different in the handling with only a minor impact to ride. (a note, if you do the sway bar upgrade, buy the IPD HD end links. The OEMs are not robust enough for the heavier bar in the front.

The ipd springs are decent. They do drop the car about an inche and on 205/55-16 tires there is barely enough room for me to slip my finger in the wheel arch. They are stiff. However in ipds defense im riding on koni yellow struts at full hard up front and unknown setting rear. Ive been daily driving it this way almost a year now. it is getting a bit old for a daily driver, especially in this cold we have.
If i could redo it all again if go with mt's methods and upgrade the sway bars instead. Id keep the ipd springs but ditch the yellow konis

In my case, the reason for the 55 series tire is due to availability locally (and in general). Much more available than a 205/50 tire and less $$$. And the car came with Conti DWS in 55's. Not really a big deal, they fit but barely. any wider and they'd rub. I'd rather run 195/55-16 if I had the option, but I'm not willing to drop $700+ installed for 5 brand new tires right now.
These BFG Comp GForce2 A/S I have on the rear is a pretty damn good tire. Wet grip and snow grip are fantastic, as well as dry grip. Highly recommend them. Bit noisy but then again my OBX 3" dp back is noisy also, so I rarely hear it. I'd love to get 2 more for the front to replace the cheap temporary Patriot A/S tires I bought while working at Sears. They aren't terrible but they feel like slicks on the front of the car...and we all know how these cars have trouble with wheel spin anyhow...
Those Firehawk's you are looking at are a great tire. Similar to the BFG Comp I have, came out of a design for their racing tires. Its one of their flagship "performance" tires.
Another great tire if you can find it is the Nokian WRG3 ***all weather*** tire (think Conti DWS style tire). They are soft tires though, so find a size with a higher load rating than the factory sizing.
General GMax is a good one as well, they have some ridiculous wet grip, and if they do spin they bite back down fast. Had them on the rear of my Fiero and almost spun the car around on a wet road after making a 90 left because they bit while I was correcting and I wasn't expecting it lol
