hi there i am new to this and unsure how it works but i am having difficulty with my 850 t5 estate 96 plate.
the fob wouldnt open the door and deactivate alarm as normal and i had to open it with the key. this set off the alarm (although horn is disabled) hazards and immobilised the car. i have no money and need the car desperately as i am disabled. technical and practical being a builder but not a mechanic or electrically experienced. new batteries in the fob, sound car battery, i have so far been advised to try the battery off for a minute, no good! the relay for the immobiliser im told is near the brake pedal. cowling off and no clear indication as to which piece of electronics is the said relay. i very much would appreciate some guidance to help find a solution or a way to get the right relay to remove and refit im told may re-set it or possible leave it off until i can afford to get it repaired.
yours sincerely

Jonny: The key should unlock the car and turn the alarm off. Many people do NOT have a fob. You must have another problem that will NOT be easy to fix. Try locking the car with the key then unlocking it. If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you other than get a pro to fix it.
